Here are some questions that are asked somewhat frequently, or things that I think you should know before asking:

How can I contact you?

I include my e-mail address in all of my translations, but in case you can’t be bothered to look, it is rizeltrans AT gmail DOT com. Feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions, comments you’d rather not make public, or even if you just want to talk.

Don’t worry, I don’t bite…. too much.

Can I put your translations on my site/blog/forum/imageboard?

I don’t mind people posting those around or torrenting them (and even if I did, I can’t stop anyone from doing so). All I ask is that you keep the credits/signature on the translations intact, and if possible link back here.

Can I translate one of your translations to this or that language?

Well, I don’t hold rights over any of the mangas I translate, so obviously I don’t have the authority to allow or stop you from doing anything. However, I’d rather people don’t translate directly from anything I translated, and instead try to translate from the original in Japanese.

The reason for this is simple: Japanese is not a language that can be translated perfectly into English, so obviously I have to change phrases and expressions here and there in order for them to sound natural in English. If you take something that was already changed and change it further in order to fit other languages, who knows how it might turn out… So, for the sake of the readers, try to translate from the raws, or at least direct them also to the translation you used as a base for yours.

Can you translate to any other languages? I can’t understand English well…

I can translate also to Brazilian Portuguese, and did so in one particular case. However I’d rather not, for personal reasons.

Do you accept requests?

Requests, as in “suggestions”, sure. Just don’t expect me to actually translate something just because you asked or thought it’d be a good idea. If I find it interesting though, it might become a future project, who knows.

Do you accept commissions?

I never tried anything like that, and I don’t really know how it would work, but if anyone really wants me to translate something in particular, drop me a line and maybe we can figure something out. Just keep in mind that I’m specially picky about projects, and there are a lot of genres I’d rather not take on.

Why do you take so long to release a new translation?

Well, believe it or not, translation is hard work. Most of the time I have no problem whatsoever figuring out what the author wanted to say, but I can’t find a simple and concise way to convey the same idea in English. Also, editing takes a whole lot of work, and as I’m not a pro, lots of time as well. Add to that the fact that I also have obligations and other things in real life to take care of.

This page will be updated should any other questions arise.
